Being a mother is an important part of her identity as an artist, as her work celebrates both the joys and challenges she’s experienced in her life. Her solo exhibition “Motherland” was exhibited at C&C Gallery in London in 2019.

Lesley’s art practice bridges the gap between painting and sculpture.
Her line-based paintings, inspired by colloquial life in the West Sussex countryside and European cities such as Nice, evoke a colourful and uplifting atmosphere. Lesley works with acrylic paint as it offers vibrancy and versatility as a medium, whilst reflecting the sense of precision which is clear in her work. Her art uses life experiences or photographs for inspiration, which then form the subject of her paintings. She transforms everyday places such as local pubs and cafes, and uses her observations of everyday life to capture an abstracted depiction.
Lesley’s work celebrates the material quality of paint, so viewers can see the colour and vibrancy of pigment as it is brought to life in every artwork.
